Vijays velayutham on Deepavali

Vijay’s next – Velayutham shoot is progressing on a brisk pace and according to sources, the film is almost at its finishing stage as only two songs and climax sequence are pending. The expectation for the film is growing day by day as this is the first film which is releasing after Vijay openly took a political stand and conveyed his support for the ADMK party in the recently concluded state assembly elections.

Velayutham, produced by Aascar Ravichandran, is the costliest Vijay film made so far with the introductory song itself was shot for a whopping Rs. 2 crores budget. With Vijay, Genelia, Hansika & Saranya Mohan are playing key roles in Velayutham with Santhanam, MS Baskar, Sathyan, Pandirajan and Sayaji Shinde are also part of it.
Vijay is playing the role of a Milkman (ohh noo .. Don’t think it is a remake of Superstar’s Annamalai) who raises as a larger than life person and hunts down the baddies with the help of an investigative television reporter. The film also has a strong brother-sister ingredient involving Vijay and Saranya Mohan. Genelia who plays the investigative journalist role is teaming up with Vijay after Sachien.
Interesting part is that the film has 15 villains (of which 13 are from south and 2 are imported from Bollywood) and 30 comedians. Vijay Antony who earlier scored hit songs for Vijay in Vettaikkaran is joining with him for the second time in Velayudham. Director Raja also hints that there will be a lot of Punch dialogues in the film which will answer Vijay’s detractors in the recent times.
